Pumps & Filtration Ltd is a family-run water engineering company based in Ipswich, operating throughout East Anglia, offering a nationwide service and providing an extensive range of services and related products for Agricultural, Commercial, Domestic and Industrial Clients. We have over 30 years of hands-on experience.

Max Dalzell the founder of Pumps & Filtration gained his extensive knowledge of pumps and Water Engineering after completing a full 5 year Water Engineering Apprenticeship including going to college to become an electrician and welder.

He then worked at Eastern Counties Pumps for a further 5 years. In his time there he held the world record for drilling the deepest borehole known with the Eureka Rotary Porta-Rig. He also cleaned out and deepened countless wells up to a depth of 120 feet and installed pumps in hand dug wells up 300 feet deep.

In 2000 it was time for a change and he went to ESPA Pumps for 6 months building and commissioning multi-stage booster sets for resale to the ESPA dealer network.

After that Max went to work at Atkins Fulford Sudbury travelling around the UK and Ireland installing and servicing Amiad filters and Atkins own 1 micron Filto-Mat technology.
18 months of working in all the sugar refineries, British steel plants, paper factories, food and beverage factories, oil rigs and onshore projects he got to see how all the heavy engineering was really carried out. In the 18 months Max was there he covered over 100,000 miles not including plane journeys.

In 2002 he made the return back to ECP Group in Ipswich to run a team of engineers working on a diverse range of projects and installations. Most challenging was a redesign of a South African wind pump and erecting the six units to flood Canvey marshes in Essex.

Max then made the decision to start up a small water engineering company and the rest is history as they say.
